Peter Hess, a graduate engineer for Physical Technology and teacher, learned about singing bowls in 1984 in Nepal and later in Tibet. More than 30 years ago he developed the sound massage with sound bowls. He created the original, highly effective relaxation method the Peter Hess® sound massage. The positive results led to a rapid further development of his method. Today it is used in the fields of wellness / relaxation, sound therapy and sound pedagogy. There are now 22 Peter Hess® Academies worldwide and more than 15,000 Peter Hess® sound massage practitioners worldwide. Scientific research and different investigations have been made and many books have appeared on sound and are now available.
