What to expect from a Peter Hess® Sound Massage, how does it work?

Sound massage
Unlike a traditional massage the sound massage is non-invasive and involves no physical contact between the client and the sound massage practitioner.
At the beginning of each treatment there will be a brief consultation with Tiziana to discuss any relevant medical issues and clarify what you are looking for from the treatment. The needs and problems of the clients are taken into account and respected in an individually designed sound massage. The effect of the sound massage is experienced in the holistic sense. During a sound massage, an atmosphere of safety and security is created.
Different size therapy-quality singing Bowls are placed directly on the dressed body and gently tapped with a felt mallet. The harmonious and overtone-rich sounds of the singing bowls resonate throughout the body’s tissue´s, fluid, internal organs, cavities and bones releasing physical and emotional tension and blockages at a cellular level. The subtle vibrations effect a relief of tension and have a regulating effect on our skeletal muscles, but also on the diaphragm and larynx. Moreover, they promote blood circulation and stimulate metabolism. They also have a relaxing effect on our abdominal organs, which is why they should be applied in case of digestion problems or menstrual problems.

Sound Massage
Considering we are all vulnerable to everyday internal and external stress; through sound massage we can re-establish balance in a rapid manner. You can let go and relax as sound waves and vibrations wash away stress and blockages and the regenerative forces of self-healing are activated and we can come in contact with our needs, our “inner wisdom. The Sound and vibrations bring deep relaxation and alter the brain waves to induce a restorative “alpha” or “theta” state, similar to deep meditation or the consciousness we have when on the brink of sleep. After the massage you will feel present, centered, you will sense a general feeling of well-being and you will feel deeply at peace and in-tune. Relaxation is one of the most important foundations in health and burn-out prevention.
The Sound Massage can be adapted to the mobility and health of the person. Massages can be done in the lying or sitting position.
Sound massage is safe and beneficial for most people but it should be avoided if you are in the first trimester of pregnancy, have epilepsy or wear a pacemaker.
Background Info
In ancient India, people knew that the world is sound “Nada Brahma” and each individual has his or her own sound. It follows that if a being is “in tune” in Sync with both self and environment, he or she is able to live life more freely and creatively. Peter Hess® Sound Massage is a modern method rooted in ancient knowledge of the positive effects of sound, such as in the East Indian healing arts of 5000+ years ago. The method is consistently well-received and has been tested and updated for over 30 years. The techniques blend ancient and modern knowledge, providing a stable framework through which practitioners can serve with confidence.
The effects of the sounds are very complex. Even if the method at first glance appears simple, its use requires substantial knowledge about the effects of sound and self-experience to apply them individually, selectively and safely for the benefit of the client.
